2003 Our Wedding Day

My first blog will be about my wedding. Although I didn't actually travel to my wedding, many other people did, and it does represent a totally new and wild point in my life journey. In Sept 2003 I married a wonderful man. Our wedding was perfect for us. We chose to have it in my husband's parent's yard, which has a sweeping view of fields and hills. It was held at sunrise.

My husband's brother and a dear friend played Morning Has Broken to beckon us down the aisle. My younger brother started the ceremony off with introductions and welcomes. My best friends and family read us blessings. My brother, who is also good friends with my husband, conducted the ceremony. Our moms signed the wedding register for us. The morning sun shone beautifully on us, while it rained just outside our circle of guests. There was a rainbow. It was a gorgeous day.

We held a potluck supper for our reception in an old country hall. Everyone brought wonderful food. A friend made 3 gorgeous wedding cakes. People sang and danced. It was freezing because the caretaker hadn't turned on the heat for the winter yet. When my husband and I left the hall the first fresh snowfall of the year fell all around us.
Well, Here we go...

Partly I am longing for travelling, partly I feel the need to reflect on past travels, partly this is a sharing of where I have been and maybe where I am going to go.
